Hello Everyone, I am new to this board but I have been reading getting some tips On 7-21-07 we got a GSP from our local all breed rescue group. His NEW name is Cody. He is between 18 and 22 months old. The old owners told rescue he was 18 months one time, then said around 22 months another time, so we don't know for sure. Cody was chained to a old apple tree all day and put in a crate inside at night. His old owners got divorced and no one wanted Cody. My husband had a GSP hunting buddy for 14 years. He passed away June 2005, He fell in love with this guy when he saw the picture the rescue group had of him chained to the apple tree which was awhile before we saw him for real and he was skinner and dirtier and A WILD Child. We also have 2 Boston Terriers, Bandit 10 yrs.and Sadie 9 yrs. I said they would be the last dogs for us and now here I am a Mom to Cody. He is good with the Bostons and Bandit gets along with Cody now that Cody knows not to take the cow hoof from him till he is done with it. Sadie still wishes he would disappear or at most keep his big nose off of her, but she will stay in the same room with him now. She still keeps one eye on him at all times. He is good with our two grandchildren, ages 4 yrs. and 21 months. He loves to run free in our fenced in back yard and with the e collar in the front and far side yard. We also have been walking him on a leash trying to get him to walk and not pull us. He is doing better and he doesn't bark at other dogs walking with their owners anymore. He sure has a big loud bark but his stub of a tail is wagging away. He also doesn't bark and chase the riding lawnmower anymore either, that was a big No No. He is smart and is learn alot and of course has a lot more to learn. Crating him at night must have helped with housebreaking he only had a few boo boos the first few days. Our Boston ring a bell to go out side and now Cody rings it also. Well just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the good advice and tips. I am going to try and use a tip about posting pictues I read on here. Never did that so I hope it works. I hope Cody and his New Mom and Dad are welcome here. Thanks again, Cody's Mom
