Today it was me.

We have been wire brushing and restaining the house. The end is near...

Had 6 sections of scaffolding on reserve, which we were up bright and early to go and pick up. We had 4 sections up when we realized that they had only sent enough pins for four sections. So here is the solution to our problem. Got the first coat on today and I should be able to finish with the second coat tomorrow morning, and then we will be done for the year.

Dog can hardly wait, they are feeling a bit neglected the last couple of weeks.

That looks dangerous. How often do you have to do the restaining. My husband was grumbling about having to stain the deck. When I show him your picture I think it will put it in perspective.

You must not be afraid of heights and love to paint!!! I admire your patience to keep your house natural and not bite the bullet like some and do the siding thing. Looks like a job well done and glad to be finished!! GSPs will be glad to have you back.

Well the village idiot got the job done with out a broken neck.
Hopefully this won't need to be done again for about 7-8 years. The previous owner who built the house only put one coat of stain on and did a sloppy job of caulking. (maybe I'm just picky)
It's funny, I work in the telecommunications field and am accustomed to working at heights, sometimes as high as 400 feet. But this little project kind of gave me the willy's. Believe it or not my job also requires that I take the responsibility of "Safety Director" :) If my techs could have seen me this weekend.
The cedar siding can be a bit tedious to maintain, but I really like the way it looks.
Tomorrow night I load the dogs in the trailer and off to the field for some fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear it is all done :D I am looking at replacing the old 1920's asbestos shingles on my house with cedar (I LOVE the smell, but I am allergic). My problem is my house is so small.. that I am afraid it would make it too dark.
