I had to go to the ER yesterday morning.   I had been having abdominal pain for 3 days that would not go away, and it finally got so bad that Dave convinced me to go to the ER.

After a very painful ultrasound, turns out, I have a gallbladder full of "sludge."   No stones, but sludge can act like stones, causing the same symptoms and pain.   They gave me lots of pain meds and said I need to make an appointment with a surgeon to see about having it taken out.   Yay fun!

Until then, I cannot eat anything with more than a few grams fat in it unless I want to be in pain again - and I DO NOT want to be in that kind of pain again.   It was terrible.   (I guess this is a mandatory diet that I've been meaning to start anwyay!)

The pain is down to a "2" today, and I am taking it easy....   Mom had her gallbladder issues about the same age as me, and she says it will only get worse if I get pregnant, so I better get it taken out.

Problem is, there is never a good time to do it!   Funny how that works.

Osiris is doing ok, but he doesn't seem to understand why I am not playing with him.  All I wanted to do yesterday was sleep (happy drugs) and he kept wanting to get me up and play.  He brought me his bones and kept tryting to give them to me.  Dave had to put up the baby gate so he the pup wouldn't come in a jump on me, and that didn't make him happy.

All last night, he stayed curled up next to me and has done ok today, but he is getting a little restless.  All I can do is put him outside since hubby is at work all day.

Funny how getting sick happens at the worst times!

Sorry to hear about your gall bladder.  I did that scene several years ago and it took them 6 months to diagnose.  My was malfunctioning, no stones.  Hopefully, they can take it out using laproscopy.  Depending on the time of day they do it you could actually go home the same day, but worst case is overnight.  Good luck with it, just remember it will be allot better once it is removed.

As for the beast, do you have a good doggy daycare in your area?  If so, you might want to get your husband to drop your dog off every other day, and pick him up on the way home.  One day at a good doggy daycare should keep him quiet for a couple of days, and give you peace while you work on getting well.

The pain & stress you are having...I have felt, so bad  Mine was ( Pancreas )....B4 I got Bean.....BUT at the time I had a Lab pup 5 month male- pup from HELL, I ended up in the hospital but B4 I went I adopted my Deuce to  a wonderful family....at the time, I had no idea what was wrong with me !!! Turned out best for all of us, DEUCE got a GREAT family, and after my recoup I was ready for a pal...and found Bean

I just want to wish you QUICK recovery & good wishes.. your pupster will be accomodating...just give them some credit....they are really IN TUNE & like someone else said GIVE someone the chance to play with.....I'm lucky to have my mom close by...she loves Bean....My Mom comes over  ( 2 miles ) and plays with Bean even B4 she says HEY to ME   lol

Well, this week has been interesting. I'm living on fat free / very low fat soup, toast, fruit, etc. All stuff I should probably eay anyway, but I'm scared to eat anything with fat in it because I don't want to make the pain worse!

I see a surgeon on Wed. to see when I get to have it out. Hopefully soon because this pain is awful.

Osiris has done very well actually. It's amazing how they do adapt. I have obviously been sleeping and laying around more than usual this week, and he has actually been laying with me. That's unusual for him - he hardly ever wants to nap during the day, but he has been napping with me and keeping me company. I took him to the dogpark yesterday since I was feeling pretty good and I stopped to get us some fat free frozen yougurt on the way home. He deserved it!

Well, I saw the surgeon today and we are going to do the surgery on Tuesday. I will be off for two weeks and the puppy will hopefully be ok and not run me around too much. If I have to, I'll send him to Grandma and Grandpas, but I'm hoping he'll be accomodating. I'm not looking forward to the recovery, but at least the pain I've been having will be gone, and I'll get to spend some much needed rest time at home! I'll try and keep you all updated!

Well, time for an update!

I had the gall bladder surgery on Tuesay the 19th and today is the first say I felt like getting on the computer.  The surgery literally knocked me on my butt.

I have to say it is the most painful thing I have ever had to deal with, physically.  It sucks!  Tomorrow it will have been a week, and I am still hurting on my right side from the incision, but it's getting better.  I can eat, though, so that's good!

Osiris has been pretty good - better than I could have asked for!  He has given me a "hand-bath" every day.  He'll come and lay next to me and lick my hands.

He also insists on escorting me to the bathroom.  He will come with me and sit in the bathroom waiting for me.

I developed a yucky cough after the surgery, so every time I have a coughing fit, it kills my stomach!  Osiris gets really concerned and antsy when I cough like that.

He has been more than willing to lay with me and nap with me which is great!

We had to put the baby gate up a few times to keep him out of the bedroom since he wanted to come in a play with me.  And he kept trying to jump ON me in bed and lay right ON me.  That was kind of unsual.

He spent the weekend at my parents house to run out some of his energy, and I hope to get out for some walks again this week.  They won't be fast walks, but at least we'll be out.

Just taking it one day at a time...
