Our youngest pup has a heavy line breeding with Pottsiepen dogs. Most recent Orson Vom Pottsiepen. Does anybody have any info on the breeding or who owns Orson? We are very happy with our new pup and would like to find more info on the top half of her pedigree.

Orson vom Pottsiepen is owned by Rob Engelking of Riverwoods Kennels. That is if Orson is still alive. Francine

Thank you, This will be the second dog that we have owned that goes back to the Engelkings' We have been very happy with both of them. Thanks again!!!

This little pup has some real scoot in her, Guess I had better get in shape before hunting season In the German system I realize that the first part of the dogs name signifies the litter number, but how can you determine the kennel by the remainder of the name? ie. Pottsiepen is the kennel name. In the DKV, every breeder is required to register their kennel and recieve approval for the kennel name. One name referrs to the litter order,ie."A',"B","C",ect and the rest is the kennel, with von der,vom,von. Every DKV dog can be traced back to day 1 in the studbooks. You can see test scores,conformation ratings,faults,if there is restricted breeding,hip x-rays,and so on of all dogs ever tested. You can see all the names of littermates, who was and was not tested. All DKV and FCI dogs have a tattoo in their ear. Francine
