Any experience with this product to help keep mosquitos off dogs?  We're headed up north tomorrow and have been warned - they're thick.  A friend mentioned she uses a product on her dog that's safe for humans and dogs but she didn't say what it was and I didn't think to ask at the time.

At the pet food store, they recommended Zonk-It.  This is a spray on solution used for horses primarily but also OK for dogs (they say).  It has a lot of cautions on the bottle and includes permethrin.  I hate to spray it all over the dog and then get it all over ourselves when he wants to snuggle.  On the other hand, I would imagine the biting bugs in the woods will be irritating too.

Ranger has had a recent Frontline application, but I don't believe that works for mosquitos.

Or do I even need to worry?  First time dog owner here...maybe the bugs won't bug him?

For a couple weeks in early summer those bugs are thick.  Spot and Lola have a cloud of them flying around and I'm sure they are being bitten.  I know they are biting me!

Read my thread on Frontline.  It looks like Advantix might be better.  I know Frontline isn't supposed to work on mosquitos but it seems all the bugs are much less interested in the dogs after I use this stuff.
