Wow--now THAT is a fence!
We've got 3 acres, and YES it is wonderful (even though we have mostly just native dryland scrub and grass growing out there). I love being able to let BabyCakes wander around looking at bugs and flowers.
The final dimensions on the dog yard are 129' long x 66' wide, with the kennels in the middle.
Meg, Congrats on such a fantastic fence. So much more freedom for your GSP's and Baby Cakes. It really took team work and alot of time!!! Here is an Idea for Birdie houses for the fence post. This is my neighbor friends yard across the street. She lined up several wood finch houses on her fence posts. It looks cute and yes birds in Spring have moved in despite her two bird chasing Dogs
Hm... bird houses... would drive the dogs insane, so it might just be worth it, LOL!
I would probably aim for houses without the perch outside, in the hopes of luring in some swallows or bluebirds and preventing the english sparrows from taking over.
My parents helped SO MUCH. God bless them! Dad is an engineer so he had a ton of great ideas as well as a pile of tools.
Well, I just figured it would work for everything from chickens to a pony if life changes down the road. Of course husband vigorously denies he'll give in to the whole pony thing. We'll see... he's the guy that occasionally just HAS to buy some cute new outfit for BabyCakes when he takes her to town.
