We are just getting pounded with rain and wind this week.

Today alone we have had over 3 inches of rain so far.

We now have a river in our front yard.

Sorry to hear about the rain, but WOW! Nice front yard ... I live in the suburbs and we could easily fit 20 houses on that land :)

It's 29 and humid in Ottawa today ... about 39 with the humidex and this is almost 8 p.m. (Sorry, I'm not sure what the imperial measurements are ... but HOT and sticky.) We've got a couple more days of this ahead ... you sweat just reaching for your cold drink ...

Hogan, You must have been in the eye of the storm today. It was just south of us in our southern part of Greenlake county.  We are in the north part of Greenlake county so just got a little wind and rain. But they blew the sirons for us too as you know it doesnot take much for a storm shift. As I was tossing tennis balls to Rocky in the basement during the storm, the radio chimed "there were tennis ball size damaging hail in these storms!!!" Hope you didn't experience that!!!!

Thanks, by the end of the summer it is very tempting to let the lawn grow up into bird ground for the pheasants. It is about a 4 hour job keeping it mowed, and this spring it has been 2 times per week.

The dogs sure love to run here

It is about 1:30 am and I can't sleep with all of the lightning and thunder again.

Took some pictures of another storm that blew in yesterday evening. Will post pictures later.

Here is a couple of pictures of the storm that came through yesterday evening. Sorry for the blurry picture, it was very windy and it was hard to hold the camera steady.

What is this rain you all speak about?  Here on the gulf coast of Texas we have been experiencing a drought.  I hope all goes well and that the flooding is minimal.

I've got the exact same sign on the wall as you go out the back door to the yard.  I got mine at Cabela's.  You might even be able to order them online (I have never looked), I got mine when our new super Cabela's opened in Buda, TX.z

I've been watching the flood reports from Wisconsin on MSNBC. They are having flooding near my mom in Iowa too. Hope you all are on high ground.

We only have 3 acres, although it looks much larger because we are a 1/4 of a mile off of the road. (very secluded)  Behind us there is nobody for about a mile.

Our rainfall total from Saturday noon until yesterday evening was 11.5 inches.

Our lane is nearly impassable.

I work in the telecommunications field and we have fiber optic cable exposed all over due to mud slides and high water. Made for a long day at work today, so now it is beer o'clock

You're near Ontario, aren't you? I hope things dry out for you soon. John's fax went off at 11pm last night with the first of many sewer backup reports from your neck of the woods. Water, water, everywhere...and by August we'll probably be in drought mode anyway.

Hello to Phoenix and Jody!

Yes we are near Ontario. They were evacuating people there night before last. The small town of Lafarge, they were evacuating people by boat, and the town of Gays Mills was flooded worse than it was last August. The water level in Gays Mills was higher yesterday than the August 07 floods, and they do not expect the water to crest until Thursday.

The town of Viola (which was hit by a tornado 3 years ago) is under water also.
