Do you still have sweet Andy, Dwayners? She is a real beauty and I love her red harness!! Michigan is a cute honey girl too and fits like a glove on the couch!!! The coloring of Andy and Michigan are like day and night, wonder about their personalities if they are like day and night also????

Sadly I don't Marie Andy passed away from bone cancer in December. She was very chatty, always making lots of remarks and sounding like Chewbacca the Wookie. Michers is not so chatty but she is much younger according to the shelter and she is learning to talk with us (mostly it's varying types of growls but coming along). Michers is actually more cuddly than Andy was but more inclined to ignore you outdoors whereas Andy always wanted to play catch with the tennis ball.

they have their similarities but it's probably pointer genes more than anything else (sneezing when they're mad at you, running in circles in the park, etc.)

I'd say Andy was laid back in the extreme, hardly botherd by anything. Michigan is a bit more edgy but they probably come from different worlds. Andy was a trained hunting dog who spoke Italian (owner surrender - 'to old to hunt') and Michigan, well she was abandoned at the shelter so we don't know very much. All that said, we see a lot of Andy in Michigan and hope that as she ages she'll become similarly awesome. IMHO Andy was the best dog ever, so big and strong and sweet. I'd be lucky to have another one like her.

Thank you for sharing Andy's story. She is a magestic pointer.   I am sure when Andy romped over the Rainbow bridge, our first GSP, Poge boy who shared our lives for 16 years was there to greet her with a tennis ball in his mouth. Andy's  sprirt will live on in your heart and  in Michigan forever! It is interesting  how our GSPs are similar in many ways but display different qualities that make them unique from each other!! So happy you adopted Michigan and giving her the life she deserves, She is so fortunate to have you

Dwayners, sorry about your loss - I know it had to be difficult for you. It's been over a year since I lost Sport after a good long life of 14 years and I still tear up when I think about him. Marie, I agree with you about comparing our dogs. I see a lot of Sport in Hans, my current GSP, but he's also his "own dog" in many ways, too. Maybe our dogs come to resemble their owners in some ways after time? I would think that we probably treat all our dogs basically the same way, which might elicit similar behavior? Regardless, I love all these pics. I'm at work and can't access my photos, so I'll post a new pic tonight.

Life is not complete without a dog!

thanks evanston, you have my sympathies as well. I am a lot like my dogs: handsome, with a good deal of energy but when the couch comes calling....

looking forward to seeing your pics.

Going through my pictures I realized I probably have ten times as many of Daniel as I do of Layla. I felt guilty about it for a bit, but, I have had him for almost 6
years and her for just under a year, so that, combined with the fact that he is my Velcro Kling-On boy explain it all:

Lady Layla - 1/2006

I cannot believe I found this pic of the late, great Kate in the speed boat!  I recently posted the story of how she jumped off this speed boat and sunk (on another thread)!
