Well, Bogey had the snip, snip this morning and seems to be doing okay.

My husband said Bo spent the afternoon snoozing on the sofa, but he really doesn't seem to be bothered at all by any after-effects ... his appetite is good (although they told us to only give him half his dinner in case of nausea), and he's still running, okay, slow jogging, to the window to see if his friends are outside.

One good thing -- it is going to be HOT and HUMID this weekend and that normally saps his energy. Good thing 'cus the vet said only short walks for the next couple days and NO RUNNING for a week!

Yikes!

I had to put him in his crate for a little down time. We're a little concerned he'll miss the step into the living room since he's still kinda dopey even though he seem to have lots of energy (does that even make sense?!?)

Actually, I should clarify, the snip-snip was done with a laser -- apparently shorter recovery and easier on the boy. Poor guy tho, you can sort of see the way his brain works ... "okay, I woke up this morning and felt good, you wouldn't feed me, you take me to the vet, they knock me out, next thing I know, I'm home my head feels groggy and something seems to be missing ...:D

Good lord -- I just let him out after he had a one hour nap ... if you didn't know him better, you wouldn't know he had surgery this morning. He is a teensy bit slower and a bit groggy, but he was draggin his toys out of his box, putting them in our laps (mine and my husband's) trying to get us to play catch.

Seriously -- what do you do to keep a GSP quiet while they recover ?!?

Ear plugs, chewies and stuffed frozen kongs!

Twiggy was on crate rest for 6 weeks starting from when she was 11 weeks old. It was HARD! But I also did a little bit of clicker training stuff with her as it didn't involve much moving and kept her mentally tired.

Well we've given up on keeping him quiet, and just trying to keep him from running himself into the ground!

The poor guy had a bad reaction to the pain meds yesterday (really nasty spillage from both ends ) so it's rice and hamburger for him. He's been really quiet what with the HEAT ... and we've had a few cute snuggly moments where he just collapses from exhaustion. I swear but for the med reaction and the heat, he would have been ready for his regular 1 hour run today (NOT going to happen ...)

Now we have a GSP with cabin fever!!!
