Thanks everyone. I was not trying to shock anyone but merely trying to point out how this great breed can be so versatile. We probably would have never recovered that bear if not for her and that would have been a great disrespect to the animal.I respect every animal I hunt and do the utmost to ethically and morally harvest them. No offense taken by me and I look forward to enjoying this website.

I don't hunt, primarily because I just don't have the time, but I come from a long line of hunters in my family in a state where hunting is king (Ted Nugent lives here).  Anyway, I thought the pictures were fine and really admired you for using the dog to track down the bear.  What a shame it would have been for the bear to have died to no ones benefit, and because of the great nose of your dog that didn't happen. 

Have you thought about search and rescue with your dog?
