Welcome to

Last night around 6:30 our female Trego's water broke and she began her normal whining/howling behaivor before whelping her puppies. All seemed about normal, when after giving birth to a female at 9:30pm., she decided to not whelp another puppy all night. This morning around 8:00am we began to really worry there was a problem. She had an ultrasound a few weeks ago that showed three pups. I called some other breeders to see if they had ever had such a long break between pups and both said to get her to the vet asap. I was thinking that also, but she seemed fine with no distress and normal mothering behaivor. The pup was nursing right after birth and trego did a good job cleaning up everything.
Well Trego, I and the puppy went to the Emergency vet in Columbus and after about 30 minutes there she had another puppy with no problems. It was healthy and went right to nursing and then about 15 minutes later the last one was born. All told 3 pups two females and one male. The last one was born around 11:15 some 14 hours after the first. The vet there was also very surprised by this prolonged pause between pups. She was never given any pitocin and we are home with three normal pups and two tired adults. This must be some sort of record. Trego was pretty slow the last time with a three hour gap between two of them, but this was a bit nerve racking. All is well.

HERE HERE!!!! We definatly need pictures!!! You cant go braggin about your grand-pups without providing pictures.. That goes against the laws of nature!
Congratulations to all of you. I think your trip to the vet was a good idea -- better to be safe.
