There was a shooting here yesterday....a biker was fueling his bike & lit a cigarette......his arm caught on fire and he was waving it about wildly....APPARENTLY a cop saw this as a deadly threat...not quite sure what the biker was doing...& felt threatened....wound up shooting the biker.............found out later>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.....>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Renee, Alice and Lauren, is is possible that we can entrust our spouses to take care of our GSPs for 3 days? We should plan a trip to Vegas and we can get our paw tatoos while we are there. Vince Neil's is the only place I would trust. What do you think? I need a vacation.
Anyone else needing some time off? |

I did a search about the pitbull vs. porcupine to see what it was about. Apparently it is a real story and not an internet hoax. Here is the link... The website says it is graphic so I will pass on that warning.
http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_pit_bull_vs_porcupine.htm
On the update it says the dog is doing just fine and has returned to her normal self.

OMG that poor dog!!!! OK I have come up with my delima...I can take Wachter to Las Vegas WITH me I can put him in a therapy harness and explain that he is my assistant dog.... He assists my peace of mind knowing exactly where he is at all times. |

| My son and his family moved out of Las Vegas last fall. Can't say that I like the town but could I come and take pictures. Something tells me this might involve large amounts of libations before the actual tat party. Actually I have two very small tats that they put on me prior to radiation treatments and that is enough. I don't actively seek pain---it seems to do a good job of finding me on its own. |

There's an idea! 25 people with GSP therapy dogs hit Vegas. How do you explain needing 2 or 3 dogs? HMMMM!
I LOVE VEGAS!

Jed----I don't think you should come. You would probably end up married with 6 or 8 dogs by the time the trip was over.
You can even get married by Elvis there! I'm sure they would let all the GSP's watch!

Pattyl -
I would try to argue the fact that we have 5 senses and so therefore would need 5 dogs a piece! In fact, you could exaggerate this fact so much that you could try to convince them that you are actually MISSING dogs instead of exceeding the limit! Just a thought!

LOL - I have two funny vegas buffet stories to share... the first involved 4 of my close friends and a chinese buffet off the strip in vegas. I am 6'1 and about 270, so I'm no small man... but these 4 friends all make me look tiny. Anyway, they stopped at this buffet at dinner time and the little chinese lady looked at them and with fear in her eyes told them, "Sorry... we closed!" The restaurant exercised their right to refuse service to my friends!
The second was at the Rio with my friend Bryan, also a man of some stature. We went to their seafood buffet on a Friday night and sat there and ate, and ate, and ate... I was doing good for a while, keeping up with my friend, but after my 5th large plate of seafood I threw in the towel. Bryan, however, kept going, finishing with 8!!!! plates. At the end, we gave the waiter a 20 and our appreciation. He looked at us and said, "Guys, I've been working here for a year, and I haven't even HEARD of anything like that, let alone SEE it." We laughed and waddled out.
Hope I Don't take this off topic thread off topic with this!
