Here's an off topic. Monday on the way to work I came over the hill on my road and there was a huge tree across the road. Like 20 inches thick. I hit the brakes and it was all ice. I slammed into the tree. I was doing 45 or so. Well the truck didn't stop there and it went in the air over the tree and crashed on the front. I am so glad I was going to work as I didn't have my family or any of my fur babies with me. I walked away with some muscle injuries but have to go back Monday to be rechecked. The insurance said they were totaling it before the shop could even look at it. Well we are up to almost $6,000. right now and that's not including any suspension and some other body work I pointed out to the tech. They are even putting a whole new frame in it. Thank GOD it wasn't a ford Ha Ha!
Beans- Hope you're havin fun on your vac!!!

Yeah thanks, I am still pretty shook up. They said I am looking at mostly a month before I get it back. Now we are cruisin in a chevy cobalt. Sure different from a loaded GMC ext cab with leather! Better than no wheels at all I guess.

I have a hot rod 81 yamaha that I'll have out soon. I injured my back and shoulders in the crash so I can't ride yet. Can't wait though! Any wheels are better than none that's for sure.
Tommorow I have to figure out how to get my 5 gsp into my wife's grand prix(96) to take them in for heartworm tests. It's only $15 a piece tommorow so I HAVE to go!

Glad to hear that you came out of that surprise in one piece. If you have to do something like that it is good to have a big vehicle around you. We are sports car fans and when we are going down the highway and I am even with the hubs on the semis I get a little freaked. I like being in the van or the truck. I'm sure that you are going to discover a few muscles in the next few days that took a beating.

Wow Ace, I am glad your Ok...you can always fix or replace a vehicle, there's only one ACE... Is it getting warmer in Michigan yet? Ice I am sick of snow and Ice.We are getting some nice days here in Ohio now. 70's the last 3 days, of course the weekend is here and they are calling for rain today and tomorrow..Did mow the yard Thursday after work. You take care, you will have sore muscles for awhile.
Beans, sounds like your having a fun trip even if you had a change in plans. Love the pictures of you and your RV..keep them coming and enjoy the rest of your vacation. Cody wants to know if you have seen any squirrels out there? They seem to be his favorite animal lately.  Say Hi to Mom and Dad from us. Barb and Cody

My wife says thank GOD there's only one of me too! Ha Ha
Well, the estimate on the truck is even bigger now. I'm not sure where it's at but the insurance adjuster failed to see where the box and topper hit the cab. The big scrape down the side, dent in the box, and it broke the back of my topper too. So she's pretty much getting a total make over! Got to have my pooches ridin in style you know. The worst thing is it totally destroyed my custom made gsp license plate! Bummer! Now I have to try to find another one.
We piled all 5 gsp into the pontiac grand prix to go for heartworm day at the vet. Thank GOD we got there early. we were 1/2 hour early so got right in. After Mocha and Hunter scammed a few treats we got the tests. No one has any! Great news! We have mosquitos here already. When we were leaving, the parking lot was full, down the driveway, and along the main road. Last year they said they did like 250 dogs that day. Wow! Only bummer is I didn't meet any more gsp there. Two ppl who have my pups use the same vet so I was hoping but no!
Beans- how much longer you on road trip?

we're planning on being at this park til the 28th...then heading home...

Bean has become a burger hound...this morning she was hanging out near her crate and I saw her pick up a rock ( same size as her dog food )...she spit it out   But I figured she was hungry....so I cooked her a burger patty....then she was a happy camper

She isn't eating as much as normal, but she's pretty much been laying around...being lazy..kind of like me

You may as well go for it. This may be as good as gas prices get. I've just quit looking at the tickets when we fill up. I remeber when $100 was the payment on a truck not the cost of a tankful of fuel. The upper midwest is worth the trip---just take the scenic byways instead of the highways.

well, I went to the doc yesterday; sent me for more testing and a ton more xrays. I go back in a week for a cat scan. I don't have a cat so I don't know why? Ha Ha

Anyhow, apparently so far I have bruised, sprained, strained, and pulled/ripped the muscles in my entire back. Off the meds it is intolerable. With them WOW is all I can say. Good thing Pam can drive cause no way I can. They 4 meds I take foer this are so strong that you could tell me you're gonna cut my leg off and I'd probably laugh. Anyways thanks for caring. I'll keep you posted on the progress. The estimate is over 7,ooo. now. Will know more later.

Bill

Here's one for you on the road Bean's mom....  my service mgr was helping clean out his mom's garage over last weekend, and his sister Barbara, found a long hunk of rope, started pulling on it, and attached the other end was a POSSUM.  It was the possum's tail she thought was the rope.  Thankfully no one was hurt.  hahaha...they shoulda had a shorthair standing by, don'tcha think? tehe.

Lisa, that is funny, but Opossum's can be very mean. I have a possum story from when we lived in California. One evening Ron was working swing shift & all 3 boys were in one of there moods. Pretty soon they started all yelling " Mom, mom, there is a huge mouse in the house" & I was like sure there is well pretty soon I saw it & it was a young possum! I called Ron & said get home NOW, well he came home & we had been working on the dryer & had the outside vent hose off & that is how it got in. Well we seen it sitting outside so figured it had got scared & ran back out. Two nights later I was watching TV in bed with the youngest son & what comes out from behind the headboard??? YEP The possum, he had been in there for 2 DAYS, the one outside must have been his brother LOL, Ron was a night school so I grabbed a small trashcan & put over it until he got home tehe. It was hissing & spitting

Belle and Halo have had several encounters with opossums and I have seen the evidence that the opossum has lost every time (the last one was pulled in two like a stuffed toy ).  Neither of the girls has ever gotten a scratch from their encounters.  Now they always want out at night to go opossum hunting. I try to scout and run off the opossum intruders in the yard before I let them out, but the GSP nose is allot better at scounting than I am so every once in a while they come across one.

Opossums and armadillos are all over Texas where we live, but the dillos are smart enough not to come in our yard.

Other critters that the girls have hunted down in our backyard and brought back to me are rats, squirrels, white wing doves.  Of course, I am always proud to receive their presents .
