Hi All -- It's been a really LONG time since I've visited this board--health issues have kept me away.  I don't know if any of you remember Christy - but I really wanted to share a recent picture of her (with her best friend Harley).  Christy is is now 3 years old, is doing very, very well and is such an amazing pup   Thinking about her previous life still brings tears to my eyes.

OH Yes!!!! I do remember Christy. Wow!!!! She looks great!!! Just goes to show what some TLC will do.

So do you still own her? I remember that you fostered her and nursed her back to health but did you end up being the forever home.

Glad you are back on the forum. We needed some good news and things have gotten pretty depressing on here with a lot of sick and injured dogs and some grieving owners to.  Thanks for the update.

What a beautiful picture of the two of them. I wasn't around when you started your story but I just finished reading it and it brought tears to my eyes. While reading it I kept hoping you were going to keep her (even though I already knew the outcome). She is so lucky to have you. Hope your health issues have been resolved and you are feeling better.

Yes, Christy remained a part of my family and I will be forever grateful that I was the one to foster her, get her healthy and then be able to adopt her!  The tears, time and frustration of getting her well were definitely worth it - she is a wonderful little girl and my life has been forever changed for the better because of her

No - she was brought into PA Rescue from Yonkers NY with severe demodectic mange, horrible bacterial skin & ear infections, was only 27 pounds and had lost over 70% of her hair.  BIG difference now

Yay! As a relatively new member to the forum (and the breed) I am constantly amazed by the depth of compassion GSP owners have regarding their dogs, or the dogs in their care.

Honestly, I don't know how anyone could abuse such sweet animals.They are very sad people indeed. Don't know how you could ever look in animal in the eyes and then treat them like that. I melt every time I look in Bo's eyes and just about give into anything he wants " align="absMiddle" border="0" src="/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/blue/emoticons/smile.gif" />.

You guys in the rescue keep up the good work! Hopefully, one day your job will become redundant.
