I am a winter person,(for about 3 months) but it has to end sometime right!? Really didn't want another major storm this time of year. Looks are decieving, it is sunny out right now, but the winter storm warning takes effect at 7pm tonight. Sure jed loves to play in new snow, but I know I am ready for him to be able to play in the lake instead...

I'm not much for winter since it seems to never end here. It was finally getting warm out (50 degree's), the yard was drying up, some of the snow was melting. Then last week we had a storm that dumped 11.5 inches of snow. Now they are talking about another winter storm coming tomorrow. I think spring has been cancelled.

14 inches of snow for my area!  This just isn't fair.  I do so hate Winter and if my house EVER sells, I swear I will never be cold again.  Nor will I ever rake, mow, or shovel!!!!!!!!!!!

, we are supposed to get 4-8 inches tonight, I agree I LOVE THE SNOW, in Dec., Jan, & Feb, now it can go away Everyone thinks I am nuts when I say I like winter but hate spring! The hubby retires in Nov. & I can't imagine going south for the winter, but March & April, Florida here I come!!! We can come back in time for fishing opener , the second Sat in May, which is usually freezing, haha

You are probably going to get what we are getting today. Started as rain last night. Wet snow today. So far it is only sticking to the grass and roof tops. Glad I am retired and don't have to fight traffic in it.

I heard up to 10 inches in the Twin Cities areas (probably North Metro).

I agree, I love winter which is why I moved here from Delaware BUT ...I'm ready for spring now.  I mean NOW (Stamps Foot)!!!

Summer and Winter are wonderful, but Spring and Fall are why we live here.

Nothing more beautiful than the Fall in Wisconsin.
A couple more weeks and the ground is going to wake up and morel mushrooms :) :)
Then fishing and dog training:)

Unfortunately this wind today knocked my quail pen over and all of my training birds are gone.

It is 11:16 and we have yet to see any snow here. It is very windy out there however. I am within 500 feet of  Lake Superior and at times, we get none of the effects of the storms. My father who lives "over the hill" about 15 miles away had been hit with an ice storm (no electricity for a few days) a couple years back we had grass growing in our yard.  Monday morning my cousin who lives the same distance away, her husband was up at 6:00 am to snowblow, WE GOT NOTHING,Go figure.

Sounds like it is pretty bad up in Duluth now. Are you seeing snow yet?

It's been snowing for 24 hours here.  I just got back from the Cities and all they have is slush.  It's a nightmare here.  At least the dogs will have fun playing in it!  I am hearing snow for another 24 too.  The plow came by and left huge boulders of snow in my driveway.

The slush fell, diagonally, until the wee hours of the night and then it became snow.  It's now raining again so the snow is dissapearing but the slush became a sheet of ice on the roads.

Needless to say, I chose to work from home today.

I have my fingers crossed that the wet weather coming my way stays wet & doesn't become white & fluffy!

I'll share some pictures I just took of the dogs playing in the snow. Over 4,000 of us were without power. Our power was out until 1:30 this afernoon, but we have a fire place so we at least stayed warm. It looks to be finally calming down out there although the blizzard warning is on until 7am tomorrow. We have no local TV channels so I'm not sure what is really happening out there. More idiots are starting to venture out onto the roads. Most people are likely wanting to check out the big lake. Fortunately I only have to walk across the street to do that. How close is your cabin to the lake?
