The vet said it was either the mange or ringworm. He took some sample and said he was going to test it for ringworm but wouldn't have results for two weeks. If it is ringworm it apparently isn't a contagiouse kind as we have not seen it on the other dogs. He did give us ointment for the mange. He wouldn't do a skin scrape for the mange due to the spot being by her eye. He would have to put her under to do it. So he just gave us the ointment. Of course we didn't ask what the expected results and signs would be if it was the mange with the ointment but anyone who has experience with that let me know what to look for that it is working. Thanks!

My female really didn't have any other symptoms besides hair loss. Like yours it wasn't red or irritated. It took a while for her hair to grow back maybe a month. The spot on the side of her muzzle was about quarter size and the other ones on her front legs were small and I had to go searching to find them. I agree with the other folks good diet, rest, less stress, and she will most likely bounce back aesthetically in no time. Matt

Matt- Did you do the ointment on your dog? If so did it make any more hair come out and then it all grew back? Just want to know what I should look for!
