Cody has now been home for a week and things are finally going better!! The first few days Reagan ignored him, then her attitude changed and she was confrontational and territorial, even aggressive at times. But finally(!!!!), yesterday there was a huge breakthrough and they began to play. Reagan allowed Cody in the igloo with her, and on her bed. She even allowed him to climb all over her while she was on her bed and they wrestled!! She has all the sudden become super tollerant of him and even initiates play! I am so proud of her. Another thing is that she hasn't even looked at the wall in the yard to jump. I thought she for sure would, but I guess she loves to patrol her new yard and feels no need to leave.
Cody has been a total champ since we brought him home. He has slept through the night since day one and hasn't peed in his kennel once!! We are working on obedience and potty training. The obedience is going way better then the potty training. We are in Arizona and it has been 80-90 for the past week, so today we introduce the kiddy pool and Reagan showed him how to roll around in the water.
One thing I am wondering about is toys. Because Reagan is protective of her food, bones and toys, we haven't allowed toys to be out when both are around. Is this something we can work towards or will Reagan most likely always be protective of her toys and not willing to share with Cody? Thanks for all the advice so far! Here are some pictures of Cody who turned 9 weeks today!
