Welcome to
shorthairs.net
We are back! It took us several months to find the right fit for our family, but after 10 months of searching we have found her.
Meet Stella! We have been telling her that she has big pawprints to fill, but trully, she has won us over already!
We hope that Izzy is watching over us and is happy with our newest addition. We did not think we could replace Izzy (who we lost to lymphoma at just 3 yrs), but a home without puppy paws was not something we could get used to.
We are looking forward to hunting in the fall, but for now, we have lots of training to do (with a 16 month old and a baby on the way - we will have our hands full)!
Looking forward to getting caught up with the forum news. We missed the "GSP world"!
And a picture in memory of our Izzy:
Your Stella is adorable!!! When our Chelsea passed away 3 yrs ago I was hoping to find another liver colored gsp... we searched and searched ( Chelsea looked Exactly like Stella) but alas... when I found this forum 3 yrs ago there was a lady who lived close by who told me where she got her dog... only she was not liver.. she was black and white!!! (the pic on my avatar) Oh well, we love "Wendy" just the was she is...Good luck with your new family member. They can never "replace" the one you loved, but they sure help to fill that huge hole in you heart... Congratulations!!
I feel for your loss of Izzy after we lost our Jazzy (Jasmine) last July at 14.5 yrs. We have a new puppy and see alot of Jazz in her, even though they are from different breeders.
It does not fill the gap or make it any easier.
