ey just checking in again to record the growth of my little 4 legged compadre. Last time I posted Kaiser was 9 weeks old, he's 5 months old now and has packed on some good weight, decent height and a lot of speed already. I'm feeding him Taste of the Wild smoked salmon formula. Here are some pics

Paying respects to his passed away older sisters grave.

Very Handsome Pup. We are feeding Delilah Taste of the Wild also and just thinking of switching. She is 4 1/2 months and only 31 pounds. Not really big but we still think she should have a little more weight on her. The Vet said not to worry, she is a very active puppy and doing fine but.............of course we worry anyway.

Are you supplementing Kaiser's feeding at all?

@SassyDelilah

Yeah I don't just feed him dry food. He eats boiled eggs a lot and ocassionaly cooked beef and patatoe leftovers. Sometimes he gets a couple freezer dried liver treats in his regular meals

Taste of the Wild is great food...I find that when you're dog is not eating properly, changing foods will do little to help. What works for my guy is the more tired he gets the less energy he has which results in more cravings for food when he wakes up. Also try adding some olive oil to the bowl to help her eat.

@sassydelilah - I believe Bella weighed about 28-30 pounds at that age. She is now average at 49 pounds...petite girl but mostly muscle. The younger male GSPs we are encountering lately are only slightly taller to her and she's almost always more muscular (muscle really packed on after about 5 or 6 months (daily hour+ off lead hikes and swimming in the warm months) as the the 4-5 month was more the awkward leggy stage lol ). If you like the food you are feeding...don't give up yet. I think that's a normal weight for these guys at that age. They are lean. Bella also loved a dash of olive oil (still does) and its great for the coat too!

Kaiser is my favorite GSP name. We had a Kaiser, who was just the best dog in the world, a very laid back GSP, even when he was young. He gave us 14 years of love and companionship.
