Thanks.  We were supposed to take Maybrie for her first swim, but both my daughter and I caught a horrible virus of some sort.  I also found a wetsuit for Maybrie.  I know she probably won't need it.....but that water is cold!!   I am just not sure how active she will be in the water starting out, and I don't want her to not want to get in because of the cold!  If I can keep her warm, she will enjoy it more.  Don't want to freak her out and then have her fear the water.    My daughter and I are beginning to feel better, and should be able to get Maybrie in the water (and us with her) by next week for sure.   In the mean time, she is romping around, no longer  tries to lay down on her bad leg, and she is eating well.  I took her off of her pain meds for now (she is doing fine without them), but will give her her meds on "water" days.   She is getting REALLY mischevious and into all sorts of things now.  We still have her out of the kennel because the kennel is just too small for her to maneuver comfortably in and too easy for her to get caught on her bad leg.  She has not tried to tear anything up at all. However, this morning, my husband accidentally left her in our bedroom, and she tore up her bed.  I don't know why, she hasn't before, and we've kept her secured in one room before while leaving her unattended.  For whatever reason, this morning, she didn't like her bed!   She also TORE out of the back door running on all 4's.  I would have worried except it was rather clear she was only making motion with the bad leg.  It was like watching her run on ice.....all 4 were moving the same speed and same direction, but she was severely lacking in forward motion!  That's when I relaxed.  It was nice to see her attempt to move that leg just as the others!    I gave her a her NSAID and Tramadol this morning after that event!  She will be thanking me tomorrow morning.   I think she just has a lot of pent up energy.....why couldn't it be summer time!!  I can find lots of water for her to swim in during the summer!    Summer or not, I've got to get this girl in the pool! FAST!   I really hope she will get in without us getting in with her!

She is keeping all 4 traction slippers on her feet!  FINALLY!!  She seems to understand they help her get around with more stability.   She ate the first set, but so far so good with the second set.  We have two more sets of 4 waiting and ready should she begin chewing again!
