Got my dogs on Acana. Big boy on grain free and the pup is on Puppy and junior which has 1 grain it it.
They STINK! They both have dreadful gas.
Has anyone had the same probs with Acana or know if this is common when eating Acana?
Won't be changing them until after the new year because of the move but will need to find something that's available in europe/UK too as some of the food available in America and canada can't be bought elsewhere.
Taste of the wild doesn't agree with Leos. |

| My son's Brittany is on Acana since a pup with no problems. I do realize that dogs are different just like people. What bothers some, may not others. Hope you find a solution. |

You mean all GSPs can't clear a room? B could clear a house when she is gassy but it Was always here and there, never regular or consistent. I started adding this fish oil to her dinner in place of Olive Oil she LOVES it, but once it's empty we won't be buying more. Since we started it she is gassy throughout the evening consistently after her dinner, and it is not at all pleasant. It was funny (yet slightly mortifying) to have company over the other night and see all the faces made as Bella passed a bad one thoughout the night. |

Her breeder also "warned" us of GSP gas when we got her...so there may be a genetic component if it isn't all GSP. Everyone I know here with one, though, can agree their GSP has some absurdly potent gas |

| Do any of you give Probiotics for the digestive tract. None of my dogs have gas problems unless they've been on an antibiotic, but they get probiotics in their breakfast and a large scoop of yougurt on their dinner. |

No probiotics for my two...but didn't know I could do that! Let me know if it helps with gas because mine both have bad gas! The worse place is in the car on trips! I have to keep a window cracked almost the whole trip! The gas seems to be worse after eating a rawhide. |

We used acana after the breeder gave us a bag on the way home and asked us to keep using it. Jackson always had gas and we found it impossible to feed him more food as recommended because he would have very runny poop and even worse gas. We just switched away and the poops are not runny but the gas is still there! |

both of ours get gas from time to time. Today Windsor farted loudly and scared himself lol. Then you just take your shirt and cover your head with it. |

| I have never had a gas problem with my dogs. They get Purina Pro Plan Performance kibble and in the evenings I add in Wellness Core canned food. I supplement the evening meal with kelp for dogs and Shed Relief which I'd pretty much the omegas. They sometimes get special treats including raw meat, sardines, various vegetables, yogurt, raw eggs, and leftovers. |

| The only time ours' seem to have bad gas is if they've eaten something tasty/nasty in the woods. Wish I could help! |

| I knew this was going to be an interesting thread. We found Libby to be gassy whenever we mix a new food, treat, or generaly anything different...Then BOOM- slient but deadly. My mom made some homemade treats for the dogs at Christmas...next day- well, you get the idea.. |

| I have to say mine just dont get bad gas... when we first got blitz and we were trying to find a food that fit our budget and he did well on he went through some bad gas... we had friends over for superbowl and everyone was grossed out lol... but now i feed purina pro plan performance and all is good... even switching bolt off of science diet that the rescue had her on and onto purina went well no gas ot bad stools... every once in a while blitz will have a bad one like every other month but i assume that is when he got some different treat ot table scrap which doesnt happen often... even with all the christmas treats he has been good.... |

| My dogs are on acana Pacifica (grain free) for the gsp and the acana lamb and rice for my border collie x. They have the odd day where they are gassy but are way better than they were on Orijen or Go! |
