Exactly
A better way of expressing it.

Dogs do have expectations of future happenings. Many years ago I wrote about our Foxy's behaviour when we drove north in the autumn to hunt grouse. It took only a few years for her to learn what we were up to. Its a long drive, 7 - 10 hours, and at first she discovered about half-way up, probably from the length of the trip, the smell of the air and perhaps the views that changed that we were going to the mountains. She could suddenly twist around in the car, without any doubt in a very happy mental state. When we had short stops along the road she never wanted to go very far from the car, the place for the stop was not interesting for her, she only wanted to get to north as soon as possible. When we stopped at our friends house, who had 2 IS she was totally delighted and so were the IS:s. They had learned that when they met there would be some hunting together soon. Soon she learned from our way of packing the car at home when we were headed south or north. If she found that we were heading north she wanted to be in the car, or at least as close to it as possible all the time during the packing. If we were headed for some other direction it was not that important. How could she tell the difference? Of course the physical volume of gear was much greater and the loading time longer, when heading north but also our own excitation is totally different. The expectation of muddy, slippery fields and dirt covered dogs and boots and clothes in the west or south will not trigger the secretion of positive stress hormones the same way as the beautiful, mighty, pure, in comparison "heavenly" mountains will do
))
So we have evidence that dogs can think in several steps ahead into the future and we have found that they have playfulness. I do not know if they have humour in the sense that we humans define it. Humour is at times actually very complicated even for us humans. However they can mix playfulness with social competition and enjoy it immensely.
