>>>The natty question arises: Does the new mix of "turned on"/"turned
off" genes get to the germ cells to be propagated to future
generations? If it does, how? If this is not what happens, say the
effect is entirely epigenetic, what is the nature of that information,
and how does the information (now epigenetic) get to the germ cells
for propagation??
I don't think these details are known now. They will be fascinating.

Well, I can with 100% certainty witness about one behavioural change in the wilderness. The song of the Great Titmouse has changed a lot and to the worst only in my lifetime. Actually the most significant change has occurred in the last 25 years or so.
When I was a child, 50 years ago they sang like this (expressed in Swedish): "Ti-ti tyy". Then it changed to "Ti-tyy" and lately it has not been even that, sometimes they sound flat like some old electronic toy-bird from Hong Kong. These are not urban birds but those living on the country side. I have not studied the town birds at all but they say that they are more aggressive in towns, just like us humans.
