I just got home from over a month in the hospital. I had 6 blocks. They tried to do the stint thing but it wouldn't work so a week later they did the by-passes.

I understand the by-pass is a much better fix then a stent.  You should be up and about in no time.

I’ve been there (1992) and am doing fine.

Hang in there. You will too.

Re: [working-gundog] International confusion.
Sorry to hear that Ron!

It is difficult to give any good advice since we all are individuals.
I just came home from the hospital where I was EKG- checked under load. My legs gave up before the heart did so it is OK now. However the doctor could not give me permission to work on a ship for another month. The reason is that my heart had during many years adjusted to work barely adequately despite the lack of oxygen, and now after the operation it had to be given time to adjust to this new, better condition. In addition it is always irritated after such an op. Since I at my work also am the leader of the ships smoke divers in the fire fighting group, I had to be fully fit before going back to work again. However there was no limit for how much I could walk or hunt as longs as I did not do anything extraordinary heavy.

My greatest problem has not been pain or lack of energy. Not even the pneumonia that I have finally recovered from was the greatest problem. My personal problem was and still is the lack of patience to recover fully and understand that everything should be given the time needed and that nothing can be rushed.

So from my point of view the best advice I can give is to be patient and then even more patient! The way I have felt the last 3 days, after getting rid of the pneumonia, so that the full improvement from the heart operation could be felt, is simply fantastic! It was worth waiting for and most likely I will improve even more the weeks and months to come.

Take the time and take care and everything will be fine in the end!
