Of course sticky dogs can be an annoyance if you have a slow moving shooter (like me) and birds that tend to run before the dog. I'm used to determining if a dog is on point if I can see any part of the dog's anatomy but some pointers have so much style that I mistake raised leg urination for a point. {:-)) I have judged one young setter that had such a strong pointing instinct that she would freeze if she saw a butterfly or if a leaf fluttered in the breeze, she never got around to finding a bird and it took us 15 minutes to cover 100 meters of ground. Her breeder had been selecting for pointing strength and I think he got more than he bargained for. Cj
