The area I was heading for was being logged. There was poison laid along the river, I hadn't seen any notice in the paper about it. I did take Quincy for a walk up Briar gully a short way and fired the starting pistol a couple times, he did jump one time but I just kept wandering along and glancing back he was back to sniffing at the bank. Then I drove back up the Spooners hill heading home and turned off into Coronation forest and drove around there for 1/4hr or so and that was a waste of time, so over the hill and down the other side I turned off up a road I'd not gone up before and it was even a bigger waste of time, just clay and gorse. So we went to the river and I took them for a walk and the older dogs found a pheasant and then back by the car a hare (which I figured was about). I know a fairly clean paddock with a couple hares in it, so methinks it is time for the electric collar correction. Sunday it rained. Again. Quincy just potters around at this stage but he "discovered" the bantams on Saturday. The wild pheasant has been around a few times so with luck he can discover that soon too. > > >> Now I've eaten my toast I'm off to the forest to hopefully terrorise some >> birds for the final weekend of the season, which has been a wash-out. > > Did you have any luck Marg?
