In a previous message I cited: Olfactory search at high Reynolds number Eugene Balkovsky*† and Boris I. Shraiman†‡§ as an information source. Their paper might be a bit heavy on mathematics for the average dog reader but it does conform exactly with the scent search models I have been developing for more than twenty years. Note that Balkovsky and Shraiman doesn't cover tracking behavior since that is a quite different physical model. It's nice to have your work affirmed by the mathematicians. Cj
