Normally I don't hunt turkeys. We have many good places and we sell guided hunts but I don't participate. Now I have two five year old sons and they want to do everything. Last weekend they caught a 9 1/2 lb channelcat a 7 1/2 lber and a 6 lber. Today I gave the boys a slate turkey call and took them to a field I knew has turkeys and I sat with them in the edge of the brush for the last 30 minutes of the day. Brody who is 5 played with the call all afternoon and drove everyone nuts, we got to the field and I blew a highball duck call to see if I could get a gobble because it will sometimes stir up something. It was just time to leave and I started to stand up when  through the brush I could hear something. I told him to call again, this was answered by the call of a hen,, again and again. You should have seen this little guys face.  IT sounded like it was only 20-30 yards to two or three different ones but we never saw then. I would have give anything o have seen him on video calling and being answered. Maybe next time we will see them and get to shoot one.
