For those who aren't on the Facebook version of the List, Dena Calivas kindly posted the 2012 Point Schedule today.

The counts needed for a major are dramatically down in most of the country -- but have actually increased in Divison 1 where the count for a major in bitches has gone from 10 to 11.

PS to Diane and Phyllis -- I think we need instructions on how to cross post to both versions of the List -- there have been some interesting discussions on Facebook that I'm sure folks on this List would enjoy too. I don't know -- but I think the different versions of the List have different people who have signed up?

From a Colorado point of view -- they “dragged” us into Texas J -- so our counts are up from our point of view -- when looking at what is up or down remember there was quite a bit of “shuffling” of states also, so a given division may have gone down (or up), but a state with a lower count in 2011 may have been moved to a division that is (relatively) higher, even if that division itself went down also . . . that happened in our case -- we increased by three bitches for a 3 point major -- we likely will not see majors in Bitches in 2012 in Colorado as we didn’t at the count that in 2011 is three lower (except perhaps at our specialty).

Why Colorado was put with Texas while all of our surrounding states (inclusive of places like New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, etc) are in a different division still mystifies us.

When everyone knows the show entries are down, it would seem to make sense to generally lower counts, but moving your state to a different division does not seem to make a lot of sense either. I think they are counting on you Dave, to take all your dogs to Texas to make majors there, when in reality you would be better off going to Kansas, or maybe  New Mexico, or Wyoming to get to majors! LOL this is interesting, I wonder if it will help increase entries anywhere?

But Dave, we love seeing you and Karen in TX.

To be honest when I looked at the realignments I thought they were bizarre in some cases.  I think I am going to Lousiana though for my majors as they only need 4 dogs and 4 bitches to make 3 point majors.

Hi Sandra,

We encourage cross posting and anyone can post the conversation from email to the FB page and vice versa.
Not sure what you mean by "instructions" - just a copy and paste or starting a new email thread.    Anyone can join either email and/or FB list.

WOW, How things have changed! I remember showing my bitch back in the early 90's, and it took 14 for a 3pt major! Now it's down to 6! Wondering if it will affect the quality of  our champions.   Kim
