We recently purchased 3 of the XX large aluminum Kuranda beds for our house full of termites. No regrets. They haven't attempted any chewing. I also bought them with the vinyl ? I believe material. Of course my two old Bullmastiffs will only lay on them if their memory foam mattress is on top of it LOL Christine Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry From: Donna Ray <donnabray@hotmail.com> Sender: gsp-l-request@shorthairs.net Date: Tue, 22 Nov 2011 12:54:43 +0000 To: <gsp-l@shorthairs.net> ReplyTo: gsp-l@shorthairs.net Subject: RE: [gsp-l] dog bedding help kurunda bed I'm enjoying these posts about dog beds - I could buy an entire tropical island with the money I have put into crate pads, beds, etc. I now have only the Kuranda dog beds and at first bought the ones that were not aluminum and the dogs chewed all the legs off. So, I learned from a friend to just leave the legs off and the bed sits just a little off the ground. Kind of weird though. Then I bought the aluminum ones which are terribly expensive, but they last a lifetime so worth it! Kuranda also makes crate beds which I believe are the same as a regular dog bed, but with shorter legs. It is bothersome that they are so expensive though - I've not tried a cheaper version. None of the dogs, including the borders, have ever chewed the actual bed part. I guess only metal is indestructible! And one of my dogs who will remain nameless chewed off the legs. Seriously. They do have an aluminum bed version which has given them all pause. I've spent a fortune on rugs and crate pads. They never consume the shredded bedding, but its very expensive to constantly replace it. I have tried spraying Bitter Apple and Arid Xtra Dry on the bedding to no avail. Does anyone have any other ideas I can try ? Thanks. Ann www.olderidgegspviz.org
