We recently purchased 3 of the XX large aluminum Kuranda beds for our house full of termites. No regrets. They haven't attempted any chewing.
I also bought them with the vinyl ? I believe material. Of course my two old Bullmastiffs will only lay on them if their memory foam mattress is on top of it LOL

I'm enjoying these posts about dog beds - I could buy an entire tropical island with the money I have put into crate pads, beds, etc.  I now have only the Kuranda dog beds and at first bought the ones that were not aluminum and the dogs chewed all the legs off.  So, I learned from a friend to just leave the legs off and the bed sits just a little off the ground.  Kind of weird though.  Then I bought the aluminum ones which are terribly expensive, but they last a lifetime so worth it!  Kuranda also makes crate beds which I believe are the same as a regular dog bed, but with shorter legs.  It is bothersome that they are so expensive though - I've not tried a cheaper version.  None of the dogs, including the borders, have ever chewed the actual bed part.  I guess only metal is indestructible!

And they do well with the kurunda beds, although some of my guys will "score" the plastc rim.  And one of my dogs who will remain nameless chewed off the legs.  Seriously. They do have an aluminum bed version which  has given them all pause. LOL

Ann..I brought a Kuranda bed in the house...they love it, dont bother it, and i throw a little blanket or little bed on top and its all cool. My friends also got one after seeing how my gsps dont tear it up and their 2 gsps love theirs as well.   Donna

I have 2 dogs that rip up every piece of begging I've ever used. I've spent a fortune on rugs and crate pads. They never consume the shredded bedding, but its very expensive to constantly replace it. I have tried spraying Bitter Apple and Arid Xtra Dry on the bedding to no avail. Does anyone have any other ideas I can try ?

Thanks.
Ann
