Well, while many of you are welcoming new life into your homes, at our house we're celebrating the 16th birthday of my longest lived dog ever, Ch. Mariah's Inherit the Wind MH (BISS Ch. Tuckoma's Gone With the  Wind  x BIS/BISS Ch. Moraine's Diamond Lil Mariah CD JH VC GSPCA HOF).

 

Bella still just toodles around, sleeps a lot and eats a good two meals everyday. She isn't on any medication, and resolutely spits her glucosamine back out every morning. At the end of the summer I noticed she was having some accidents, so did a full work-up "Senior Panel" and found she had a UTI -- now after the antibiotics she's as good as almost new. Vet said her blood values were fantastic for a dog her age. Without a doubt she's in better shape than I will be at the equivalent age of 112.

 

She's a joy -- has finally slowed down to the right speed.
