I sat in a room full of delegates debating the Phoenix show site  for an extended period of time- much information was given and much discussion.  I voted for our club not to choose the site due to one of our members having #1 agility dog and others interest more in performance events.  However, I didn't complain because I felt like everyone else chose the best they could given the information...I and (I assume) everyone else in the meeting was not being paid to sit there,  If they wereI being paid, don't tell me :)

I worked many hours of overtime of night shift at the hospital to be able to come to nationals.  Two of my performance friends are staying over all week with no interest in the breed (one staying until Sunday to receive an award and the other not excited after being talked to very rudely at the banquet last year by a couple of long time exhibitors)  You can bet on it that we will have a great time though no matter what.  I want to thank all the Florida folks who have worked all year preparing for the events this coming week.  I am glad I chose once again to make the trip to NSS.  I am sure we will receive some nice southern hospitality.  BTW- Bless Your Heart in southern can have two different meanings if you are being cranky :)  Out of respect of our wonderful breed, please let's see some positive conversation!  Safe travels to all those going to NSS and those who can't go, we will miss you.

Any news on agility?

Subject: [gsp-l] Whew, terrorist???

So, I get too busy at work to follow this list for several days, and when I get back, I am reading dozens of "AZ Weather" posts...and one is calling Cathy a terrorist???. I go in and out of NYC three times a week. Many of my friends died at ground zero. Rick, I think you should step in here.

Could everyone just take a little Prozac from now to the time of the annual meeting and delegate's meeting? I know Cathy well, and though we do not always agree, she is a very hard working person, and generally has the best interests of dogs and people at heart.

We all want what is best for people and dogs, that is all. I think that is true of both sides of this discussion. Still, could we modulate the tone a bit--and I am no punch puller, so coming from me, that signals a level of alarm at the use of the word "terrorist."

Looking forward to seeing ya'll next week, and let's all have fun together, even though we may disagree about much. Get your information straight, find out what your club wants you to vote and how, and respect the result. If aught needs changing, make a proposal and re-vote it.

I find it odd that other things which have been voted in the past have  been changed by an ensuing vote, but there seems to be retrenchment about reconsidering a site because of the venue being out of doors in a very hot climate. The last Phoenix show was lovely, but we could not get that hotel again. I have enough hot flashes without extending one to the length of a week, but hey, that is just me. Safe journey, Nancy Campbell, Homesteader rat pack.
