Art and Barbara Vitarius are not on the lists, so I am taking the liberty
of doing a little bragging for all of us. Art and Barbara never bred before,
though they have owned GSPs longer than most of us have been around dogs.
The new Providence show site must have been lucky for us, as the first day
Edeltraud Laurin gave Homesteader's Here Comes the Sun, owned by Jim Vitarius
and myself WD. He was to turn seven months the next day. The next day his litter
brother Homesteader's Star Burst, owned by Art and Barbara, went
reserve WD to him as he won again for four points. Then Saturday brought a Best
in Sweeps for his litter sister, Homesteader's Glimmer and Glow owned by Barbara
and myself with BOSW going to Homesteader's Here Comes the Sun. Then
Homesteader's Star Burst went Best Puppy, owned by Barbara and Art.
On Sunday, however, Homesteader's Star Burst went BSW, and Homesteader's
Glimmer and Glow went BOSW, but baby brother was not to be left out, as he went
WD for three out of four in the weekend for another four points. Oliver, as he
is called, started his show career on Thursday, and walked out of the weekend
with 10 points and both majors.
On the other coast, little litter sister Homesteader's Shimmer and Shine
won her first time out for a major, BOW and BOS over three specials.(Thank
you, proud owner Amanda, from her co-owner)
These kids are out of CH Stelor's Homesteader Reign or "Nancy Ann" bred by
Dee Stelmach and a little by me, and sired by CH Shortale's In Cahoots with
Irondale or "Sting" as his breeder/ owner Leita Estes calls him. It was
wonderful that Leita was out here to go to the advanced sporting dog judge's
seminar and could see her dog's babies win some. It was a thrill for all of us.
I think Maddie was looking down on me and smiling and saying: "See, I am not
gone as long as they go on. " Thanks to Barbara and Art for sharing, Rebecca for
helping show, Jim and Sandy for letting mom and dad take the dog that did so
much winning and to Leita for her ever bright spirit.
Congratulations to the other winners: Chris Bach's boy Foxhill's Stelor
Field Play, JH, whose mom is Nancy Ann's sister Meadow, and whose Dad is Polo.
Good job on Diane for showing him, and to Audrey Pelzel for winning with her
girl Rock Maple's Love Potion #9 bred by Maryellen Gillespe.
To Bill and Dot and Dorothea for winner's bitch the first two days to
finish and for Ace's three breeds and group placement. To Stacy Work for
handling and finishing Valerie's girl, VJKs Everything's Coming Up Roses and to
Billy and Margaret Farone for Megan's win the first day. We had quite a time. If
I missed anyone, I am sorry, and you can fill in. Thanks for all your support
and love people. You were just the right medicine for me this weekend. I am
lucky to have you help me heal from my loss of my girl. All the best, Nancy
Campbell Homesteader GSPs.
