So Barbara and Art Vitarius, who in their mid-life bred their first litter out of Ch Stelor's Homessteader Reign, by Ch Shortail's in Cahoots with Irondale (Sting from California) had a pleasant surprise when their pup of six months and three days went winner's dog for two points on Saturday at Fitchburg under breeder judge, Rita Bell. Thanks to the judge for recognizing this baby's performance on the day and his potential. Barbara and Art have owned Judy and Ken Marden's dogs, shown by Peggy Rousch in time past, but they let me show their little boy to his win, and I am grateful for that.

 In my dotage, I am happy that I can still show dogs and win a little, especially with a baby puppy. Mel shows great promise, as does his wired sister Phoebe. Two others in California are also on the docket for future showing. Congratulations to all the other winners, including Cathy Iacopelli's girl and Jim Deppen's Shimmer on the same day.We also feel proud of the Liza (Ch Homesteader's North Star) and Ramsey ( Stelor's Final Decision) boy, who took winner's dog and best of winners on the first day of the Fitchburg.hoohoo.
