Does anyone know who bought the original painting of "Carlee" at the Garden, in the 2006 art sale and how much it sold for?
I do know the Starks did not buy it.

Does anyone have a copy of a poem that was in an issue of GSP News from the 80's (When it was in the small size)  I think the title was "Why dogs sniff other dogs tails" or something like that.  In my moves I have lost all my back issues of News from that era.

Pedigree ends longtime Breed Winners program to the unhappiness of all breeders... Doyle painting sells for close to $500,000 over estimate, setting art world record...

Was this the Carlee painting? I do not think it was....clarify someone??? Nancy C.

Just to save someone else the trouble of doubling up on the work, I just checked 1980 & 1981 issues and couldn't find the poem in either year

I know Bart John Forbes was the artist and not Doyle.

As I remember it was in the middle or late 80's, I do remember it was in the lower right hand corner of the page.  It only took up less than a quarter page, I think it was used as a filler.  I do remember it was set I believe in Australia, in a Bar.  Very cute poem.

Dogs (and why they sniff each other's tails) Once upon a long, long time ago, through desert sand and mountain snow, Across the land was heard a greeting, all dogs required, Come to a meeting! They came from near, they came from far, Some came by plane, some by car, As they were admitted to the meeting place, to listen and to look, Each was asked to leave his tail, outside hanging from a hook, After they were all seated, every dam and sire, Some little yellow bitch in back jumped up and hollered, "FIRE"! In all their haste and hurry, without a second look, Each dog ran quickly out the door, and grabbed a tail from a hook, So that is why throughout all time, a dog will leave a bone, To go and smell another's tail, He's looking for his own!
