This is a great idea! Time to scour the basement for anything I haven't already raffled off for the LIGSPC :-). I'll let you know what I find... Cathy

How will we be able to find all of the auctions set up for this purpose? Maybe we should have a catch phrase in the title of any auction for the GSP's... Any suggestions? Does anyone know if donations to the group that has the GSP's are tax deductible? If so maybe we can get more donations from people/companies who would do it for the tax write off. Why not just put "GSPR" (GSP Rescue) in front of the name of the item?

Hello, Maybe you have one person coordinate the auctions with Missouri Rescue listed in the beginning of the name? I can't do it at work either, I would have to wait until I got home. They will need photos and a description, a starting bid and a reserve if you think you need one. I wonder if we could just send the funds straight to their Paypal account? Ok everyone, you I have listed the Danish Plate.  Here is the link for the Plate.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=120386610208

Just when looking, please keep in mind the shipping is not accurate.  I ship Fed Ex and there is not an option on eBay to offer eBay as the shipper.  I started the bidding at $1.00, so Happy Bidding.

I don't think there is a way to send it directly.
The money will have to be sent from paypal account to their paypal account as a donation.
I am wondering if we get alot of stuff for auction if it should be put under 1 email address set up for them?

Thats a shame if Paypal gets a piece of each transaction. It's just a little less going to the dogs (no pun intended) when each auction requires two transactions to get the money to the rescue. i believe they are, but it's a very recent development. michelle salyers told me that they recently got their 501c3 and that she believes donations will be retroactive to the application approval date. i hope they post that information on their web site! tracy in boise -----Original Message----- >From: cathyyak@aol.com >Sent: Mar 3, 2009 11:17 AM >To: gsp-l@web.whc.net >Subject: Re: [gsp-l] Auction fund raisers > >Does anyone know if donations to the group that has the GSP's are tax >deductible? I was told they will not advertise it until they have the signed and stamped paperwork in hand, and they are just waiting for that. But it will be retroactive to the approval date, so donations made now should be covered. I don't know who would do it or how it could be managed but it's a shame GSPCA rescue cannot run it's own online auction, not only could all the money go directly to the dogs but GSPCA could be documented as the donor for the dogs in need.  It just would show that we GSPCA breeders take care of our own when they end up in rescue.  Right now with the money going directly to Paws (don't get me wrong it's fabulous for the dogs), but if the cash came from GSPCA, it would show where the support is coming from: GSP Breeders themselves.

Jennifer, we can just forward our monies from the Auctions to GSPCA Rescue and they can send one check on Behalf of GSP Breeders.

Nancy, can it be done this way?  Sounds simple enough to me.

If you wait for GSPCA to do it they would have to wait for several auctions to finish before sending a check, they cannot send a check for each auction. If you individually send the money via paypal they will have it as soon as you send it after you get paid for your item. Money will get to the dogs who need it much faster if you send it yourself. Plus then you get the tax deduction, justy print out a copy of the Paypal transaction for your files. FWIW JMO. I think that is a good idea.

Do I have that right?

Nancy, can it be done this way? Sounds simple enough to me.

Thats a shame if Paypal gets a piece of each transaction. It's just alittle less going to the dogs (no pun intended) when each auction requires twotransactions to get the money to the rescue.
