This bill wants to ban live birds for use in field trials and hunt tests as well. 
Can some one check this out and keep the list and Missy posted on this. 
I am leaving Sunday for Sacramento for AB1634 fight.
We need to get letters of opposition from local GSP and GSPCA in ASAP.

It appears that there would be no penalty for someone who reports
 unfounded
abuse, which would seem to me to encourage unfounded harrassers rather
 than
encouraging the reporting or legitimate animal abuse.

It appears that live birds would be banned in field trial events. I
 know
nothing about field trials, so I wouldn't
 know the effect this would
 have.

It has very specific language for restraining dogs with tethers and
 does not
apparently make allowance for dogs on grooming tables at shows.

I didn't read it all closely yet, but it appears to be vague and far
reaching enough to potentially cause lots of problems. The AKC page has
information on how to contact your representatives to voice your
 opinion on
the bill.
