Even though you may not live in Illinois -

We want to make you aware of two Bills that are rapidly making their way through the Illinois House and Senate. These bills if passed could be devastating to many of the Pointing breeds and to dog lovers and owners of any breed or mixed breed. Links to the Bills and information from the AKC, the NAIA and the Sporting Dog Alliance (who all oppose these bills) are included below. Additionally the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association calls HB 198 "misguided" and opposes it.

After reviewing this information if you agree these bills should be opposed to maintain dog owners rights in Illinois please take action and:

Sign the Petition provided by the Sporting Dog Alliance.  Then have each member of your family sign the petition. Ask everyone you know who owns and/or loves dogs to sign it  - even non-residents of IL. These petitions will be hand-delivered to the committees reviewing each of the bills.

For IL residents, sign the petition at    http://www.petitiononline.com/asda1/petition.html
Nonresidents, please sign at    http://www.petitiononline.com/asda2/petition.html

Forward this information to anyone you know who is a dog owner and/or lover!

Prompt and aggressive action is required from all dog owners. If we do not act, there is a strong potential for irreparable damage to be done to everyone who owns a dog in Illinois, visits Illinois with their dog and to the dogs themselves.

Thank you for your help!
