You guys crack me up.  Everyone is interested in this import, without even seeing him or knowing his lines :-).  But if he were black and white, he would be an unknown who we would be afraid to breed into our pedigrees.  Why do you think that is?

Putting on my flame suit.  It's been a little tame around here....

The Silesia Kennel is a good one.
Of course, I wouldn't breed or buy based solely on a kennel name or test scores, either.
I think Cathy has a point.

Try the the Kurzhaar.US forum for more info, some there may have seen the dogs personally.

I did see him...and I agree with the posters that have complemented him.  He is a lovely dog. Very deserving of his wins in Springfield.   And I agree Cathy, we don't know about his lines. I'm sure someone will find out  Bonnie.

AMEN Cathy! Do you think he might have some Black dogs in his recent Pedigree?..... Bruce Shaffer Quoting CathyYak@aol.com: > You guys crack me up. Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness will make him wag his tail.

Don't have a clue.  Although my dog was at those shows I was not there.  I want to stress that my question/observation has nothing to do with the quality of the dog, I never even saw him.  Or his pedigree, as I have no idea what it even is, or where he was imported from.

The reaction to him just struck me as ironic :-).

It shouldn't make any difference at all! Quoting CrawmerK@aol.com: > > In a message dated 8/29/2007 5:16:56 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, > blshaffer@frontiernet.net writes: > > AMEN Cathy!  The dog was nice. People only remarked upon that and that he was imported. I don't see what that has to do with black and white GSPs or that it is ironic. Just unusual that we have a field import in the conformation ring, and a fairly nice one as well. Nobody said anything that I read about breeding to him. If he gets himself together in the show ring (which he has not as yet), Mark will finish him in a nano second. I am a proponent of removing the black disqualification from our breed standard, particularly now that the genetic test for breed specific identification is available, but don't see what that has to do with folks just commenting on this dog. Mark told me that the owner had imported other dogs from Germany for field use, but this one was the first that he thought was of sufficient conformation quality to show. Just something to be interested in on an otherwise routine show day. Nancy C.
