Find a trainer that does NOT use food to train. Best method is teaching your dog to listen to you because it respects you not because you are bribing it with food! Use a small link chain choke collar or small pinch collar- do NOT use a haltie or gentle leader device- they do not train the dog just inhibit his movement. Im so excited. But...i need some help. I dont have a GSP group where im from so i'm hopeing some of you can give me some direction. My male GSP will be 12 weeks old on friday. He will not be a show dog but will be hunted a great deal. I know he is still a puppy but i feal that i need to get started on some obediance with him and i just dont really know were to start.
