Leita, if NAIA is good enough for you, it's good enough for me.  I think the first step in getting as organized as the PETA folks are, is deciding the best place to send our donations.  If we are all sending money here there and everywhere it won't be as effective as pooling it with one (good) organization.  I'm virtually certain PetPAC got my address from a dog show catalog or CA dog show entry information of some kind, so others must be getting them too.  Not to say they aren't a good organization, I really wouldn't know, but your personal recommendation certainly outweighs their PR in my book at least.  Thanks so much for responding.

Hi All
As someone that has been fighting anti-dog legislation in CA (mostly)for over 16 years. I have been a member of NAIA National Animal Interest Alliance for years. They are THE EXPERTS in Animal Rights and how to fight them. They have been around as an organization for 16 but have been actively fighting AR for longer than anyone! Patti Strand is the founder of NAIA and the author of Hijacking of the Humane Movement. She will be our speaker at the 08 NSS Health and Welfare seminar. Missy is in the process of launching our new website and as soon as it is moved you can read more about Patti. Please visit www.naiaonline.org and the legislative arm www.naiatrust.org   NAIA is where everyone goes to get the factual data to use in our fights. It is where Law Enforcement goes for information. There are many "new groups" out there that  are soliciting money but the nationwide established group is NAIA. NAIA isn't the fund raising machine like many. They put their money where it does the good (in fighting, education and policy making)not lining the pockets of the organization!

Just got a mail solicitation today. Are these in fact the folks that are in
large part responsible for defeating the PETA sponsored CA legislation?
Would this be the best organization to contribute to? I think we need to
decide what group is the most effective and, assuming it is a nationwide
entity, give it our financial support to the extent we are able.
