Just went through the OFA site.
Here is what I came up with when I search for Duke of the Woods, under the German Shorthair Pointers using the "match "any part of name" function
www.offa.org/results.html
Here is what I found when I searched for the dam using the same settings
www.offa.org/results.html
I also tried searching your Registration Certificate number and found the same thing. |

But it was not getting through to you. It is not your fault of cause. Yu are not alone. There are many folks just like you and they leave happy and productive lives despite being Inane. |

WOW.. who knew that a simple question about verification of clearances would start such a worldwind?? Hopefully future GSP puppy buyers who might be reading this thread at least have a better understanding of how to use the OFA website to research health clearance history. It is important to have that history on the "family" of your future GSP. I routinely send a "new puppy" packet full of info on OFA and the importance of health testing to perspective GSP owners whether I have a puppy available for them or not in an attempt to educate buyers about "ethical" breeders.
Ryan GSP.. I agree with you. Post the link to the clearances! I don't think I have ever heard of dog identity theft. I guess all of us who routinely post our dog's health clearances and links to such clearances are in jeopardy? After reading all the posts I did a search also and actually could find nothing listed on any of the dogs identified in the "pedigree". But as it has been stated the puppies are all sold. All we can do is wish the best for them and their new families and hope others have had some insight into their options for breeder selection. |

| You all know better than I do. All it takes to register the litter is the name of Dogs , the registration numbers and the dates of registration. Let say that you've got your inbreed puppy mill Litter as usual and now you want to pass them for the royal ones. What do you do? You go here. Take the numbers, which made widely available, get the OFA clearance link and proudly display it to unsuspected buyers. You do not show the pictures of the puppies (there is nothing to be proud of) of cause just general pictures of the Sire and Dam cut offs from the popular magazines. I did not imply that you actually do that, but who is stopping you. Of cause there is an insight for the potential buyers. Do not trust your eyes or instincts; Trust the papers and the people who breeds for money-they have never lied. |

| boltnt, this is one thing I like about this Forum, as it holds advertisers to some standard. Xraying dogs hiips has been practiced with better breeders of GSP's for many years and we can credit a pretty healthy breed to that. It is a GOOD practice and there are very good reasons for it...Look at the Golden and Lab issues...Because there are way too many dogs being bred without proper testing, all because those breeds are good pets. One reason our kennel does not sell dogs for pets only. Stating your ofa status should be a point of pride, not like hiding an email adress, it is pretty low to steal another breeders ofa no's and I doubt it is commonly practiced. |

| I 'm with you Brenda on the hip issues. Only one thing . I think that the confidential information such as registration numbers and dates and OFA certification should be shared among the actual buyer and the sellers. It is all. |

Here is my two cents worth which probably doesn't mean much! lol Look at some of the most well known GSP breeders in the USA. Their websites have links right to their OFA and health clearence stuff. Even some of them have links right to the image of the dogs AKC papers. If fraud was such an issue this wouldn't be happening. I think you are using that as an excuse to try to cover yourself and make it look like you are the good guy when in fact you havn't done any of your health testing. |

Registration numbers and OFA certifications are NOT confidential information. Anyone can look up either and that's as it should be for those breeders and buyers wanting to produce or purchase sound dogs and better the breed.

Jean - I was just going to say anyone with internet connectivity and a browser can log onto OFA and look up any dog. Same thing with the AKC website. My suggestion to all puppy buyers is do your homework and ask questions. If you don't like an answer or aren't sure, walk away from the deal. All the breeders I have ever dealt with have been more than willing to share enormous amounts of information about their dogs. |

How I see it is that the originalpost was a lie. You may have 'changed' the numbers but what about the names? Why bother to post false info? Please do not confuse nice with stupid. |

Gee, Boltnt, why don't you tell us "puppy mill people" how you really feel. Whether you mean what you say or not is immaterial, you said it and you will live with it. Posting false information to a public bulletin board and to unsuspecting puppy buyers is fraud...believe it or not. I do health testing to verify for myself that I have good breeding stock and that information is not private. As Texas Belle said, anyone who can access the internet can check information. By the way, I'm curious as to why you keep referring back to the "site administrator" as the one who should be passing out verdicts on what should or should not be posted. If you check on all the posts you have written you'll notice that back on September 26 you responded to someone looking for a puppy with information on the pups you say are now sold. At that time, Rick (rpetersen) said something similar to "I can't believe I have to keep posting this same message regarding a minimum of OFA clearances to post a litter". Rick Petersen IS the site administrator and list owner, the rules haven't changed since September.. As I stated before, I felt the puppies looked nice. For their sake as well as their new owners', I hope that you will stand behind them as they grow up and that they stay free of any health or structural problems. Reputable breeders do that. Will you? |

Mr. Shevariov(boltnt), I AM a site Moderator and I did politely ask that you post the info or links to your OFA Clearances, or your post would have to be removed. You have declined to post that information and no matter how I search OFA, no info is available on those dogs names or Registration numbers. The rules to post litters are clearly stated and you apparently read them, as you knew to post 2 generations of the Pedigree and OFA Clearances; though "apparently" making a blatantly false/fraudulent statement about your OFA Clearances and admittedly making false statements as to names and Registration numbers. That said, instead of deleting this thread, I believe it in the best interest to leave this thread for future puppy buyers to read and be aware of just exactly the kind of false information a person will give to pawn off pups to the unsuspecting and unaware buyer. I will leave it to Ricks discretion as to whether he chooses to lock and/or delete this thread and revoke/suspend any Membership. |

| Ps. They are good looking pups and it is a shame you chose not to do the minimum necessary Health Testing for Hips. There are never guarantee's when it comes to nature, but by doing Hip Cert's, you at least weigh the odds in the pups and buyers favor of a long, happy and healthy life. |
