Last night went as expected. Welllllll, not quite as expected. I took Pixie up to my bedroom, expecting her to wake me when she wanted to be with the puppies. She did. After the last puppy feeding of the night we went upstairs to bed at about midnight. Hour and half later Pixie demands to see the puppies. Half an hour later we are back in bed. One hour later Pixie demands again. 60 minutes later we are back in bed. This time I vowed to ignore Pixie’s protests as long as possible. I lasted until 6:00 AM. After spending another hour in the whelping box I wanted to go back to bed. Pixie had been so good with the puppies all night I decided to leave her with them while I got some sleep. Three hours later I come back down stairs and discover the whelping box is empty. No bedding, no Pixie and NO PUPPIES. Turns out that Pixie was now on the dog couch on the opposite side of the room. With her were 5 puppies. After a quick search of the room and bedding from the whelping box I found the missing two puppies under the couch that Pixie was on. All are OK. So far the rest of the day has gone without any further puppy moves.

Puppies are supposed to remain in the whelping box, right? Where have I gone wrong?  Why is it that in a women's mind (no matter what the species) men are never right.

That is too funny. Momma and babies look very comfortable.

You know it may be that the heat lamp is to warm for them in the whelping box. Momma may be moving the babies to a tad cooler location for her and the puppies.

Today is the 1 week birthday of the puppies. It has been a busy week. The days and nights have been busy with making sure the small puppies get extra feeding time. Then the three snow storms did not help because I had to clean out the driveway each time. The mean Tail Docking fairy showed up Saturday demanding her payment of the 50% tail tax and dew claw tax. I think I have solved the whelping box problem. Pixie is now content to spend all her time in the box and no longer removes the puppies to a chair.

Happy Ground Hog Day.  Today is Week 2 birthday for the puppies.  The eyes started to open yesterday and they are starting to get up on the feet.

Those are some adorable, chubby little puppies. So cute, they are starting to look and act like little puppies.

Week 4 birthday has arrived.  Time for a puppy fix.  I have been feeding the puppies with some rice pablem/esbilac gruel for the last two days.  Pixie is at that point where she does not want to spend much time with the kids.

So this morning first thing I gave the puppies their first taste of puppy food.  Since I kenw that it was going to get messy Iwaited until after to clean up the whelping box.

Later after a clean whelping box and top off from Pixie they were active before taking their morning nap.

Pictures taken today their 5 Week birthday.  A friend stopped by to help take pictures.  We had a very limited amount of time and very harsh lighting conditions.

It is Week 6 birthday and time for a puppy picture fix. The pictures are of each puppy taken within a few minutes of having been put down on the ground outside for the very first time. Each puppy was outside by itself. It also was the only bare, dry ground I could find. As can be seen in the pictures I have not had a chance to catch up on the poop pick up as the snow melts. The day was cloudy and windy with the temp around 40 F.

Hi Ann,
I am keeping 3 puppies from this litter. Much to the unhappyness of several potential buyers. 3M, 1F, and 2F. So far they look like craker jacks.

You are a very brave man, LMAO!!!!!
I like girl 2 per pics. Will you be attending either of the next 2 FT's at the PA Britt grounds??? (April 30 & May 16-17)
I will probably be at both, if you come, you better bring babies!!
