This was a litter originally intended for next Spring. However, Pixie went 8 months before coming into season this Fall. If she were to go that long next year it would have resulted in a litter next September. I did not want a litter that late in the season so I decided to breed her this cycle. This breeding is because I want a female puppy from Pixie. Pixie is the daughter of DC Chocolate Mousse’s Coffee MH who in turn is the daughter of DC Trekker Vom Grunbaum UDX TDX MH AX. Pixie is one major in the show ring away from being my first second generation DC in my breeding program. This is the pedigree of the future litter.

| Just got back from the Vet. The ultrasound of Pixie showed 4 without even trying. It is now a waiting game. |

| If it was that easy to find 4, look out, this could be a big litter. Congratulations on a very nice breeding. Those pups have some nice dogs behind them. Out to be good in the field and the ring. Can't wait to see some puppy pictures. |

I took Pixie out for a few birds on 1/10/11. She got to retrieve a couple and we had a good time.
Then today in the snow storm this morning Pixie went to the vet to get an X-ray. The vet and I think we found 7 puppies in the X-ray. Here is a picture of the X-ray film.
After much discussion the due date has been revised to 1/18/11. |

It has been a long night and a longer day. I spent the night in the whelping box with Pixie. Nothing happened! Pixie got restless around 6:30 AM. Took her out and she went pee and poo. Finally got going around 7:00 AM to start making breakfast, coffee and let the other dogs out. Checked on Pixie about 7:20 AM and found a puppy in one of the dog chairs.  It was a male and weighed in at 12 oz. After another 3 hours without signs of wanting to deliver another puppy we were off to the Vet.  After doing Caesarean section, late in the day I came home with an additional 6 puppies. Bottom line is 4 females and 3 males. Weight varies from 12 oz boy found first out at home to 7 oz. Once I get my act back together I will post pictures. |

Here is a picture of Pixie with Puppies. She is doing fine after the C-section, all things consitered.
These are the markings each puppy has.
I have had it for tonight. Do not think I will get much sleep tonight eather. |

| Momma looks great and so do the puppies. They bounce back from the C section so fast. Halo had one with her litter and she was a little whiny the first night, but after that was fine. Try to get some sleep. I know it is hard. And thanks for the pictures. |
