How does that work from a registry perspective?

Both sires and the dam are already DNA'd as they have participated in National GSPCA events. Each of the puppies will be individually DNA'd before they can be registered with AKC. The appropriate sire will then be placed on each pup's indvidual registration paperwork to be given to the new owner when pupsters are old enough to go to new homes.

Thanks for asking! (And yes, it is a bit pricey :) )

I'm interested in hearing about this Phyllis. Would you start a thread in Breeding on this? I understand the procedure and have a good notion of what could be accomplished in half the time of a B!tches breeding life and would love to be able to have an open discussion on the potential and possibilities.

I had thought about doing this as well.  To me with the dna stuff being able to tell who is from whom it sure does make a lot of sense.  I am surprised that more reputable breeders aren't doing this these days.  Good luck with the litter and keep us updated on how it all works out.

Looks like we are getting close for the ground arrival of the pupsters. Kate's temp is below 99 (98.4) and has been since last night. This is the first litter for Pat, so I'm doing the grandma thing from New Mexico. :) She knows who to call if she gets in trouble and things are at the ready. I'll keep you guys informed. :)

Ahhhhh, puppy breath! Can't wait!

Well, the puppies, WHEN they arrive, will be in Mesa, AZ. I am in Las Cruces, NM. So we'll have to rely on Pat to put up puppy pix. At last check, Kate's temp was still falling, so I guess we wait.

Kind of nice to get to be the grandma and just enjoy them. :)
