We spent the weekend out at a camp, and that means Bella is in crazy mode for about two-three days straight. Woods, water, chippies, ducks... At home she is ready to get up around 10 or 11, at camp, she is attempting to wake us around 7
This weekend was no different. All is great and well, she was having a blast as always. More fireworks that didn't phase her a bit (though I did put her in the house for the BIG ones as I always worry about doggy ears and feel bad for dogs at firework shows), and she even got to stay up past her bedtime to go to the beach and watch her first Northern Lights
Problem came on our last day, I think there were many sums to the evil (being over tired, finding brat and hotdog bits dropped by the fire, being hot and probably a little dehydrated as sometimes we have to remind her to slow down and drink...) but before I know it a guy from a nearby camp is commenting to me that my dog likes PBR (beer). I took it well and made a joke about it, but as Bella comes to me droopy eared and shaking... there must have been steam coming from my ears that only someone like the hubbs would pick up on. Turns out a beer spilled vs someone actively giving it to her (which is good because it keeps from wanting to rip them a new one).
BUT bless her heart she got sooo sick. The whole drive home she couldn't settle. I pulled over twice to let her throw up (as she would fight it in the car), and again when we got home. I don't know how much she had, I don't think much, but it was enought to startle her to make her come to me...and to get sick.
Got home, gave her a bath and held her like a big ole baby for a while all wrapped up. After sleeping for a couple of hours she was up for eating dinner, and is herself today. I guess a good bath and sleep will always do wonders for a hangover. Still keeping an eye on her just in case anything else should seem off.
