Welcome to
shorthairs.net
Hi Everybody,
I am so glad I found this forum.
Right now we are living in Latvia (a small country near the Baltic Sea). We own a GSP Higgins Vienigais which has already shown some progress in the shows. He is 13 months now and already a Latvian and Estonian Junior Show Champion. We plan to do (and hopefully pass) the hunting trials this autumn.
Still have to learn how to post pics here but some links you will find below:

Welcome to the board! Always nice to have someone from overseas join us! Are you from Latvia or are you from somewhere else living there?
You dog looks nice, congrats on the showring success. Is his nose a lighter color then his hair? It looks light in the pictures, and is that common in the gs's over there?
I would like to hear more about the type of birds you have to hunt, and about how the hunt tests are run in your country!
Welcome aboard! Hope you'll jump in on some discussions.
I fixed your picture links, just needed to drop the "?v=0". When your posting and adding pictures, just click on the image with the mountain in the 4th row of tools all the way to the left and enter the url link to your picture that ends in ".jpeg"
Thank you for the nice words.
His nose is not really lighter, but I agree, it looks like that in the previous batch of pics. Must be the light. Pigment is considered as one of the points in which some dogs over here are somewhat lacking but In my case it is just slightly lighter eyes than I would like. My dog's bloodline is partly Polish (the sire comes from Z Czarnego Dworu breedery and the dam's father as well) and partly German. Here are some pics taken with a better camera:
Thanks for the advice on the picture posting! Hope that this time I have done everything correctly
I cannot tell you much about the trials yet as the lessons will start only at the end of August, after the opening of duck season. I have never heard of a CACIT organized in Latvia and my guess is that we will have to go to Poland for it.
Welcome. Your boy is a beauty. Glad you are having fun. My Belle looks allot like your boy. She is the one in my avatar and also the third dog in my signature.
