I had never taught Bella to sit prior to last week so that is a work in progress as well.  She is doing extremely well in that aspect and this process seems to be further ingraining my role as the leader.

We did 5 holds today.  First one was tough to start, she is still not keen on opening her mouth for the roller.  Hold went well, about 5-10 seconds, dropped on command.  #2 seems to be the tough one where she is still fighting for dominance.  I'm learning to keep this one short and sweet.  #3 was great, 15 seconds and she only tried to spit it out twice but I caught her.  #4 was good about 10 seconds, and #5 was excellent at 30 seconds.

Next Steps: Definitely showing progress and less resistance to the hold.  Will definitely continue hold for some time before moving to walking hold and distractions.  I would like her to better accept the roller without coercion.
