I began FF with Bella this week.  I'm following Evan Graham's Smart Fetch program.

Session #1 -4/6

Working from the floor, sitting on a bucket.  Made her sit in front of me and teased her with the roller for a while.  After a minute or two I slid the roller into her mouth just behind the canines.  Her first response was to spit it out but I made her hold it for about 5-7 seconds.  Hold #2 was more difficult as she knew what was coming and squirmed.  #3 was good, more obedient than the first 2 and a good drop.  Called it a day on a success.

Next Steps:  More hold work, increase # reps.  There were some mouthing issues with an active jaw but this does not concern me right now as I will correct once the basic hold is gained and we go for longer holds.

Session #2 - 4/8

Quite the fighter today, might want to get her some more exercise before starting next time.  3 total holds again, #1 fought and squirmed but dropped on command, #2 took well but spit it out before drop command, #3 was good with a good hold until drop command.  Quit on a positive note as she was getting restless.  Will try another session later today.

Next Steps:  More holds, not increased time yet.  There were some problems with her remaining in a sit.  I have not taught this command in depth as I have never saw a need for it.  After she drops the roller she will stand up and try walking.

Session #3 - 4/8

Less fight at first, 5 total holds.  #1 was great about 8-10 seconds.  #2 was almost great but she started to spit it out as I began to say drop (watch this moving forward), #3 was almost great as well but I got greedy and went for 15 seconds time.  Should have stopped there, I am learning as well, #4 was bad and she struggled to take the roller, #5 was better so I quit on an improvement.

Next steps:  Contine with holds, have her hold her head up more to decrease chance of spit/drop.  She is showing large signs of uncomfortableness and is still adverse to me opening her mouth and placing the roller in.  She seems to be struggling with the mental aspect of this, I'll continue to monitor.
